We have a new local coordinator/Director, Amy Ford!
All of the FMA family says thank you to our founder and ex-director, Oscar Jesus Cortes, who is retiring from FMA, because he wants to make a change and completely pursue his other passion which is coaching football in the US. We think Oscar is leaving in the most beautiful time of FMA, Oscar has been living in Colorado-USA with his beautiful family for three years. Thanks Oscar for creating and caring for Yellow Butterflies for 9 years! We remain connected and in touch with our potential sponsors from Holland, to ensure continuity and financial support for our new projects with the children, school community and our neighborhood, this is also a guarantee to pay for the position of local coordinator AMY FORD and our education coordinator Helga Mora Rada. Our volunteers continue the course of our classes corresponding to August. It was a month with some points to make known to those who follow us today with expectations of FMA. Mario Manten, volunteer from Germany, iscontinuing with an individual evaluation of the children, Mario was always concerned about the level of knowledge, proportional to the age of each child, and this highlight that we must work harder and harder to find successes and results. For this, our coordinator Helga Mora and our new local coordinator-director, Amy Ford, have thought of the following ideas:
1. Recreating an beautiful atmosphere for the children when they are enter to the school 2. Creating behavior scales, respect, attached to observe students (a tab where prospective volunteers can see and learn more about the academic level of each child and their observations, if they have any medical, psychological reports, etc. ) 3. Continuation of meetings with parents, to delegate more responsibilities to relatives of children. 4. Emphasis on teamwork for students and art classes.
