who are we?

Fundación Mariposas Amarillas

"Yellow Butterflies", is a small Colombian grassroots organization committed to supporting disadvantaged children and families around Santa Marta, Colombia.

what we do

We aim to provide services such as basic education, recreational activities, and workshops that include information on health, nutrition, and the importance of education to children and their families in Santa Marta’s under-served neighborhoods.

our mission

Our mission is to help the children and families in the community to access the tools they need to fight poverty and social injustice by empowering them through education, information, and support.

We give them the chance to spread their wings and reach their full potential as proud, enthusiastic, and effective members of their communities.

We are always looking for international and local volunteers to help teach our pre-school, 1st, and 2nd grade classes.

You can also help lead after school programs for the adults in the affiliated communities. This includes literacy and English classes as well as health and sex ed workshops.
