become an ambassador

We are initiating our ambassador program for the very first time this year! This is our way of incorporating those volunteers who are unable to be present at our Santa Marta site but would still like to make a contribution.

WHAT IS AN AMBASSADOR?

At FMA ambassadors are like long distance volunteers. They are an essential adittion to the FMA family and they can contribute in ways other volunteers simply cannot. An ambassador is a seasonal representative of the organization that commits to dedicating a set ammount of time to raising awareness and funds to a specific issue. Ambassadors do not have to come to our Santa Marta site in order participate! It is actually essential that ambassadors find themselves located in various cities all over the world to help us develop a greater global outreach.

WHAT DOES AN AMBASSADOR DO?

An ambassador selects an issue pertaining the organization and creates a plan of action to assist us, but they do so independently. For example, if the school required the construction of bathrooms for our students an ambassador would focus solely on  raising funds to allow us to develop this proyect. If an ambassador were local (Anywhere in Colombia) they could focus on collecting items instead of funds. They could organize a drive for clothing, food, health supplies, books, etc. and then ship them or bring them to us.

An ambassador is expected to commit to a minimun of a month to allow their proyect to truly unfold. They have to set expectations and goals before starting and mainntain momentum thruout. For more information about becoming an ambassador please contact us.
